17.1hh Imported Hanoverian Gelding, Proven Consistent Winner in the Dressage Arena

Standing a handsome 17.1 hh, this imported 7 year old Hanoverian gelding has proven himself a favourite in the National Dressage arena.  A finalist in his Stallion Performance Test, in Germany, this Escudo/Hill Hawk gelding had been ridden and shown almost exclusively by Adult Amateurs, and has been Champion or Reserve Champion in almost every show in which he was entered (which has been all of the major National shows, including CornerStone, Equivents Ottawa and Toronto, etc.).  In this, his second year of showing in the dressage arena, he has already earned scores into the 70s at 1st level, with sights set on potentially moving up to 2nd level by year's end.

Travers/renvers/shoulder-in are confirmed, along with counter canter, and he is starting work on flying changes.  He is comfortable to sit, and a fun horse to ride;  large enough for the bigger rider, he is also easy enough for someone of smaller statue to train and ride.

Judges frequently comment on his very correct way of going, and his presence in the ring.  He has proven himself a consistent performer between the white fences, helping 2 AA who had no previous experience in the National show ring to earn many red ribbons and championships.

"Ed", as he is fondly known as around the barn, is truly a solid citizen on the ground.  He's a breeze for shoeing, bathing, clipping, trailering, etc.  He hacks well, loves attention and even bows, kisses and lifts his lip upon request!

He was purchased as a retraining project (he's a reformed hunter/jumper) in November, 2005 and is now ready to move on to a permanent, new loving home.  We had an extensive vetting done on him upon purchase, and his health record has been perfect since.  A long-term home is of paramount importance;  if this fellow weren't purchased for re-sale, we'd keep him -- but, alas, we can't keep them all.  He truly is a sweetheart, and we're looking for someone to love him as much as we do, and truly be his new 'mom' or 'dad'.

Serious inquiries only, and ideally, we'd like to let his AA human partner to end the show season riding him.  Meaning, we're not in a hurry to sell him!

Price:  $45,000 CAN.
